PALACE GAME: Round 1
You open your eyes—
You're standing in the vast lobby of a corporate building, facing the reception desk, where a Team Galactic Grunt is stationed—she's currently on the phone, though, and occupied. A few other grunts move through the lobby, looking as if they're on their way to their next assignment. All of them look identical. And if you watch their paths for a while, none of them actually end up leaving the room.
The walls are a bright, metallic, sterile blue with white, and the floor is made up of gleaming silver metal tiles emblazoned here and there with a gold logo. The reception desk is slightly to your right, and to the left of that there are three doors in the far wall in front of you.
To the right of the reception desk, there's a little area with a vending machine, a large ottoman to sit on, a potted plant, and . . . a dotaku? With a face? It's sitting resting on the floor next to the vending machine, and it's staring right at you with those red eyes.
Directly to your right, closer to the front door, there is a glowing green circle on the floor with a sign on the wall next to it.
What will you d—
Wait. Your phone is buzzing. Whether or not you had it with you back in the prison, you do now, whether in your pocket, in your hand, whatever. It's on your person, and it's vibrating demandingly for attention. If you choose to ignore it, a mechanical voice emanating from it begins literally saying the word buzz! buzzzzzz! buuuzzzzzz! in an increasingly irritated tone.
Check your phone?

The warp pad is a bright glowing green circle laid into the floor tiles! The sign on the wall near it says:
Know your warp pads! Green means one-way only!
And indeed, if you step on this one, nothing happens. Except you get lit from underneath with a cool green glow. Technology is awesome!

Anyway, it's bothering him that Bronzong is staring at him so hard. What does Bronzong want!]
If I'm supposedly a Pokemon now, don't you think I should be able to speak with Pokemon directly...
Do you need a drink of your own, Bronzong? Even if you are the one taking them from the machine, I suppose you might not be able to open them on your own. If you would like one, then feel free to take whatever you would like, and I will prepare it however you like.

If I had a bowl that might be better, but...
[Well, for now he will hold out the can. Drink up! If you want!]

Don't ask me to describe how it happens. These things were not meant to be known by mere mortals. But Bronzong drinks the lemonade, sparkling happily as it does so.

Bravo! I will be on my way to investigate the doors, then!
[Now it's time to properly inspect the three door area.]

Above each door is a square LED panel, each showing nothing but a single emoji, though plenty large enough to make out what it is. From left to right, they are:
🧠 ❌ 💗
The middle door is flanked by two flat-topped chrome metal pedestals, short enough for the tops to be easily viewed; the dim black top of each is featureless right now, but they look reactive, like they might contain some kind of sensor technology. Not that there's anything on them for them to sense right now. It may be that something should sit there . . .
no subject
He tries to trigger the sensor to open it. Then he puts his hand on one of the sensor pedestals. If this does not work he is also going to try his phone, and then the Fresh Water. Just trying! Just to check!]

Touching the top surface of the pedestal, you feel a little buzz of haptic feedback. It's definitely sensing whatever touches it, but nothing happens at the touch of your hand.
Or any of the other objects! Bummer!

I had to check.
[Excadrill is just going to remain out to chill for now until Ingo decides to switch to someone else.
Anyway. Given what the receptionist said, the fact that there are three, and the emoji...]
I wonder if the lake guardians are being kept here?
[If that's the case, though, he feels conflicted. If this were a situation where he had Emmet with him, Emmet would go to Uxie's door and he would go to Mesprit's, easy peasy. He's much more confident in his ability to surmount an emotional challenge than an intellectual one. But that seems... like a bad idea? Isn't it a bad idea to go in the emotions door?? If he has a choice, shouldn't he choose not that one?! It's a matter of propriety!
He turns around to address Bronzong to check.]
Well, then, I think I will be going through... this door...?
[He points towards the door with the heart over it. ARE YOU GOING TO STOP ME? BRONZONG? BRONZONG SPEAK NOW]

[He doesn't go back and grab any worms. But he does go through the door with Excadrill.]
