REVERIE CRAU INFO (for Ultern)
Hello new and old friends! This version of Saturn is a CRAU from a private game called Edge of Reverie. Some junk has happened to him! He will not be quite the same Saturn from canon! So here is a rundown of pertinent information, under the cut for length because I know I love to ramble! There is also a nav at the top to skip to what you want to see.
QUICK NAV
The Long Version
The TL;DR Summary
A Note on CRAU Relationships and Sinnoh/Hisui Castmates
THE LONG VERSION
This is the gameverse version of Saturn from Platinum postgame.
Before any CRAU junk happened, this Saturn came from the games, not the anime or PokeSpe, despite many of his icons! Gotta use the material I have lol. His protagonist was Dawn/Hikari (I use English names but play him as recognizing both names as the same due to translation mechanics), and his original canonpoint was a few days postgame: after Dawn becomes Champion and after Charon has asked Saturn to accompany him to Stark Mountain but before Dawn foils Charon's plans there. So his situation at the time was that Cyrus was gone forever, Saturn had inherited Team Galactic, and then the other Commanders all fucked off, but Saturn had not yet heard the news of what they were doing, nor had he fully decided what to do with the remaining Team Galactic.
From there, he ended up in a monster possession prison team game, Edge of Reverie.
One day Saturn went to lie down for a nap in the Nap Room in the middle of his workday and woke up in an abandoned jail cell! This was his introduction to Reverie, a panfandom jamjar game where "inmates" wake up in a strange "prison" dreamworld, possessed by a monster that shares their headspace and sometimes body, and are sorted into cellblocks to compete against one another as "rehabilitation" by a shady Warden. The Warden's tasks ranged from harmless and wholesome to deeply traumatizing; I won't go into detail about those here (or in a dressing room setting, lol) without plenty of advance warning, don't worry.
So is Saturn super traumatized?
Not really! Reverie can get dark sometimes, but I promise I'm not going to be leaning hard on playing Saturn as incredibly damaged, because 1. he isn't and 2. I don't like that style of RP. I'm also taking him from his current Reverie "canonpoint" (the game is still ongoing! I still play him there!) and as of right now he's been relatively lucky in not having been subjected to most of the worst trauma the game has to offer. He's all right. I wanted to address this in case people see "monster prison trauma game CRAU" and want to run the other way, lol.
That said, if you want to opt out of being tagged by him for this or literally any other reason, I don't mind a bit. I won't ask questions or take offense whatsoever. Just comment to his opt-out post here!
Anyway, monster possession?
In Reverie, Saturn was possessed by Azelf! This meant that Azelf was basically hanging out in his head at all times, and Saturn had some physical features related to that possession: two tails, a forehead gem, yellow eyes, and sometimes blue skin. He was also able to access a few of Azelf's abilities, like 1/3 of the Red Chain's power and Rest, by purchasing those powers from the Warden using tokens won in the tasks.
Saturn was pretty horrified to realize he was possessed by and therefore working together with a Pokemon he had personally kidnapped and tormented, and the two initially had hard feelings, but after Saturn proved his will to the Willpower Pokemon by refusing to crack under the pressure of his difficult first few days in Reverie, Azelf gained respect for him and the two slowly grew very close, with Saturn taking comfort in its presence and having gratitude for being able to use some of its powers, which saved his life more than once. The relationship changed Saturn's view on Pokemon for the better; he had originally never had much interest in or any respect for them, viewing them as weapons or tools as part of Team Galactic, but living with a Legendary in his head forced him to realize that Pokemon Are People Too. Awww.
What about his actual Pokemon?
In Reverie, inmates can ask for regains from home at the rate of once per OOC month. Saturn hadn't originally planned on asking for his team back, but after Azelf made him come to appreciate and miss them more, he did end up regaining Toxicroak, Golbat, and Bronzor, in that order. Golbat quickly evolved into Crobat upon witnessing Saturn's change of heart and newfound friendship with his Pokemon.
Despite everything, Saturn grew extremely attached to Reverie.
Some terrible things happen in Reverie sometimes, but some good things happen, too, and Saturn was coming into the game at a very vulnerable point in his life—having just lost Cyrus forever and been saddled with a group he wasn't sure what to do with, but felt some responsibility for and kinship with. When he arrived in Reverie, he was sorted onto cellblock Cerberus (all cellblocks are named after mythical monsters), a group of overall very good people who shared a tight connection, and he ended up deeply attached to the unit and to his offteam CR, including friends and lovers. It was the first time in his life that Saturn had ever really felt like he belonged somewhere, and he was no longer surrounded by toxic views on humanity and the human spirit, so he had the opportunity to explore emotions and relationships in a way he hadn't before. Because he has an existing tendency towards obsessiveness regarding people he cares about, he even developed a deep fear of leaving them or forgetting them (a thing he knew was likely due to how the canon update mechanic works in Reverie) and was willing to take the torment the Warden dished out for the sake of being surrounded by those he loved and who loved him in turn. He feared, too, the loss of his own considerable character development, deciding it would be a fate worse than death to go back to being the person he used to be.
But in the end, Saturn "woke up."
Reverie is in the middle of an event right now that involves a temporary setting shift, and this version of Saturn comes from an AU where this is where the game ends and everyone goes home after the event. In the case of Reverie, going home means waking up, and waking up means forgetting the dream happened. Saturn woke up exactly when and where he'd left off, without memories of Reverie or Azelf's presence. So, no headmonster or cute tails for him anymore, and definitely no Pokemon powers! He will not have these things in Ultern. He's just Saturn now. Again.
But the dream mechanics didn't account for Azelf or the Pokemon he brought to Reverie.
Because his Pokemon were regains and not dreamers, and because Azelf is a Legendary Psychic Pokemon with vast mental abilities, all of them remembered the experience. Golbat was still a Crobat, too, which was Saturn's first hint that something was very wrong, but he had no explanation, as his own Pokemon could not speak to him and Azelf was not there when he woke up. But something had changed. He just didn't know what.
Over the next few months, things got weirder.
Bronzor, also a Psychic Pokemon, evolved soon after into Bronzong—a happening that also came as a complete surprise to Saturn, as it had never seemed to want to evolve before—and over the next few months, both Bronzong and Azelf began to prod at Saturn's mind to try and unlock his memories of Reverie. Azelf had been sent back to sleeping beneath Lake Valor, but it was still mentally aware and capable as ever, and it was well aware Saturn would want to remember everything that had happened to him and the close relationship he'd built with Azelf and his other Pokemon. During this time period, Saturn went about his life as the new head of Team Galactic, working to rebrand it as a legitimate energy research facility. He was moderately successful in this and was beginning to settle into his new life . . . but always with the sense that something was seriously wrong, and that he was missing something that had happened that day he'd fallen asleep. His dreams were often plagued by strange visions of Azelf, which he assumed were related to the guilt of his past.
But one day, he decided to do something about them.
Deciding that the only way to stop his strange dreams was to deal with his guilt, Saturn decided to go to Lake Valor and make a prayer to Azelf itself to apologize for their history under Cyrus's influence. But a strange thing happened when he entered the cavern: the Pokemon actually appeared to him, and he could sense a connection with it that surprised him. So rather than offer an apology and walk away, Saturn instead caught Azelf, legitimately, and when he did, Azelf was able to give him back his lost memories of Reverie. Now he knew why his Pokemon were evolving and treating him strangely, and why he had felt that there was some inexplicable hole in himself that he couldn't put his finger on.
Saturn did not take this super well.
It took him some time, to say the least, to reconcile the life he'd been living in Sinnoh for the past few months with everything he'd forgotten had happened to him in Reverie. There were two versions of Saturn to mesh together into one whole Saturn now! And he was, of course, seized with longing for everything he'd had and then lost, and crushed by the knowledge that because most of his beloved CR was crosscanon, he'd surely never see them again.
Unless?
So he got to work researching.
Look, we all know how much Sinnoh loves rips in spacetime and people getting thrown into other dimensions. Saturn knows this as well as anyone, and he also has Team Galactic's past research and facilities at his fingertips, along with Bronzong, a Pokemon that can open portals to other worlds. His new goal, on the side of doing legitimate research into sustainable energy for the good of the Sinnoh region, is to find a way to locate and access Reverie again, and/or the worlds that his most important people hail from. He has just gotten started on this, so he has nothing much to show for it yet, but he's ready to pursue it for years if he has to.
That's the long version!
THE TL;DR VERSION
WHAT ABOUT CRAU RELATIONSHIPS?
Reverie is a panfandom game, and Ultern is a single-fandom dressing room, so there is not much to worry about here in terms of Saturn mysteriously assuming CR with strangers. His canonmates in Reverie were Ingo, Emmet, and Hilda, so he does recognize them and know them personally—but he is also aware that people lose memories of Reverie, and he will not expect any of those people to recognize him in turn. (Ouch.)
But there is a special note for characters from Hisui/PLA! During a memory share event in Reverie, Ingo showed Saturn several memories of his life in Hisui, including many of those characters. The characters Saturn will recognize by face and name are:
Coin
Cyllene
Akari
Volo
Calaba
Gaeric
Melli
But he only witnessed single scenes of them and did not in any sense meet them, and won't expect them to recognize him at all.
That said, the matter of primary importance to me is respecting player comfort levels, so if you play one of the above characters and don't want Saturn to know their name and face, you can opt out of that either here or in my opt-out post linked above (or PM me). It's very easy for me to just handwave that he doesn't recall that particular memory share, and I don't mind doing so in the slightest. Whatever is most fun for you!
Here's another special note for Gen IV/Sinnoh castmates! For that same memory event I wrote up a couple of headcanon memories for Saturn that included other characters from Platinum; the characters involved were Cynthia and Mars. If you play either of these characters, hit me up if you want to discuss whether to make those headcanon memories shared canon or want me to retcon them, because I'm more than happy to do either. They were brief and not very consequential scenes!
Is this finally everything? I think this is finally everything. Woo!

THE TL;DR VERSION
- Post-Platinum (gameverse), Saturn was whisked away into a jamjar game where he was temporarily possessed by Azelf, went through some character development, and formed a lot of close relationships.
- He "woke up" from this dreamlike experience with no memories of it having happened, and he went back to living a normal life as the new Boss of Team Galactic (legit research org edition).
- But Azelf and Saturn's Pokemon did remember, and the Psychic types began to work on awakening the latent memories, knowing he would want them to.
- After some months of this, Saturn was disturbed enough by visions of Azelf that he went to Lake Valor and ended up catching it, upon which his memories of his CRAU awakened.
- Desperate to meet the people he loves again and get closure, Saturn has begun researching interdimensional travel, hoping to accomplish it someday.
- His current Pokemon team is Azelf, Toxicroak, Crobat, and Bronzong (more info like exact levels and movesets to come, I'm lazy right now).
