POKEMON INFO
Since Saturn now has his entire (Platinum) team back in Reverie and I have to keep swapping between a long unrelated info post, Bulbapedia, and a huge pastebin to look shit up when it comes up in threads, I am finally just gonna make a whole info post compiling relevant information about his team! Both technically and personal lore shit.
TOXICROAK
Ability: Anticipation
Level: 44
IVs: 24 across the board
Nature: Naughty (likes spicy food, dislikes bitter food)
Characteristic: Likes to relax
Moveset: Poison Jab/Brick Break/X-Scissor/Feint Attack
Background and personality: Toxicroak was Saturn's first Pokemon, as a Croagunk, and the only one he had before joining Team Galactic; he caught Croagunk on a family trip to the Great Marsh when he was 12 (he showed very little interest in Pokemon as a child and didn't get one younger) and has been raising her ever since. She's by far the Pokemon most closely bonded to him, although as a general rule Saturn pre-Reverie did not bond closely with his Pokemon at all. She was still much closer to him than he was willing to admit for something he still at the time considered a "tool" or weapon. Having grown up with him, Toxicroak has feelings towards Saturn that could be described as "big-sisterly," and with her overall somewhat trollish personality, she's happy to tease or disobey him outside of battle. In truth, she's proud of and slightly humbled by his character development in Reverie, and she hides a fierce protectiveness of him behind her teasing exterior. She has a rivalry with Crobat that is much more serious on Crobat's end than hers. Toxicroak mostly thinks Crobat needs to get better taste in men. She loves to battle and never holds a grudge no matter how rough things get physically or emotionally, unless Saturn himself were to be personally hurt. But since she's a trash-talker who fights dirty, whether the other Pokemon holds a grudge against her is the real issue.
CROBAT
Ability: Inner Focus
Level: 43
IVs: 24 across the board
Nature: Bold (likes sour food, dislikes spicy food)
Characteristic: Good perseverance
Moveset: Air Cutter/Bite/Cross Poison/Confuse Ray
Background and personality: Crobat was a Golbat back home, having been given to Saturn as a Zubat as his free cult-assigned Pokemon when he joined Team Galactic, and having remained a Golbat for a long time after because Saturn wasn't good enough at bonding with his team to evolve her through high friendship. Whomp whomp! But she was still very fond of him herself and spent years hovering right at the border of high enough friendship to evolve, hoping that someday he would show her some display of affection and give her an excuse. It wasn't until he came to Reverie, realized the shortcomings in how he'd been approaching Pokemon back home, retrieved her through the Suggestion Box, and apologized to her for everything that she finally felt comfortable evolving into Crobat. (Her evolution is also why she's gained a level from canon and swapped out one of her moves.) Like Toxicroak, Crobat is thrilled and humbled by Saturn's character growth in Reverie and his new tendency to actually bond with his Pokemon, but unlike Toxicroak, this has led to Crobat having something of a Pokemon Crush on Saturn and a mild jealousy of his other Pokemon and his romantic partners. Her rivalry with Toxicroak has worsened because of this, though Toxicroak mostly just finds it funny. The fact that she has type advantage over Toxicroak, and the fact that Saturn sometimes offers her his own blood to feed on, are things Crobat revels in as proof that she is the superior Pokemon for him, but literally only she cares.
BRONZONG
Ability: Levitate
Level: 43
IVs: 24 across the board
Nature: Hardy (no food preferences. it's a Bronzong and sees no appeal in eating at all since it doesn't especially like any flavors.)
Characteristic: Very finicky
Moveset: Gyro Ball/Extrasensory/Shadow Ball/Confuse Ray
Background and personality: Bronzor was given to Saturn by Team Galactic as a gift upon his promotion to Commander (fun fact, all Commanders in Platinum have a Bronzor, and very few other NPCs do). As his newest Pokemon and also an inorganic and unexpressive Steel type, Bronzor suffered the most from Saturn's canon tendency to neglect his Pokemon, and it isn't especially close to him personally yet, though it is still loyal to him. In its brief time since coming to Reverie, it's taken it upon itself to support Saturn in a more independent way, often going off by itself to investigate potential threats and having its own adventures; it was during a particularly wearisome outing that it leveled up and evolved into Bronzong on its own, without Saturn present, which Saturn feels a little bit pettily jealous over. But the experience brought them closer together as Saturn fussed over its injuries and it having been missing for a time, to Bronzong's slight surprise. As a Psychic-type Pokemon, it has a certain unspoken sense of its trainer's heart and mind.
SPECIAL BONUS: sometimes you just wanna fuck around with Picrew and make gijinka and you know what you should embrace that urge when it strikes
